AquaLife was opened in 2011 by Christoforos Vasilakis in a 90 m² shop on Dimitriou Gounari Street, behind the Rotunda. Christoforos studied marine biology at AUTh, kept a 250-litre Amazon biotope on his student desk, and ran out of patience with shops that would sell a fourteen-year-old a Common Pleco for a 60-litre tank. The shop is now 240 m² and split in three: a livestock room with twenty-eight tanks running on a single shared central system, a planted-tank gallery with seven curated aquascapes, and a workshop where bespoke tanks are built and serviced. We are a partnership of three. Christoforos runs livestock and the central system; Eleni Stavridou, who joined in 2016 from the Aegean Plant Nursery, runs plants, hardscape, and the planted-tank gallery; and Petros Kalfas
